Celebration of 11th Ayurveda Day (23 September 2026)

Embassy of India, Sao Tome celebrated the 11th Ayurveda Day on 23 September 2026, with the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow.”
 
In his introductory remarks, Ambassador Vinay Kumar highlighted Ayurveda as both a cherished part of India’s heritage and a living knowledge system that continues to offer valuable perspectives for addressing the evolving healthcare needs of the modern world. He also administered the 11th Ayurveda Day Pledge, encouraging a healthier lifestyle, greater awareness of evidence-based Ayurvedic practices, and the responsible integration of Ayurveda into healthcare.
 
The event featured short informative videos on AYUSH, India’s traditional healthcare framework encompassing six systems of medicine; AYUSH Aahaar; and Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s message on India’s traditional healthcare heritage, research and innovation, and its growing relevance to contemporary wellness practices worldwide.
