Celebration of 80th Independence Day of India

Embassy of India, São Tomé, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with patriotic fervour, bringing together the Indian community and Friends of India.
The celebrations began with Ambassador Vinay Kumar leading Mission officials and members of the Indian community in singing the National Song, Vande Mataram, followed by the unfurling of the National Flag and singing of the National Anthem. The programme included the Hon’ble President of India’s Address to the Nation and screening of the short film Viksit Bharat, showcasing India’s macroeconomic growth, digitalisation of the economy, reforms, innovation and achievements, and overall socio-economic progress over the past decade.
The celebrations also featured the #HarGharTiranga exhibition, felicitation of the winners of the Special Independence Day Edition of Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz, India Through My Lens contest and My India My Story contest, as well as live patriotic song performances.
