www.thesciencepolicyforum.org/initiatives/eti/

The vision of ETI is to understand, analyze and anticipate the impact of disruptive, futuristic, emerging, strategic, and critical technologies that underpin economies, employment, security, social equity, and global relations while identifying forward looking opportunities.

The aim of the ETI is to assist in recommending appropriate policy choices and help inform negotiating capacities vis-à-vis global technology governance rules, and standards, keeping in mind India’s development and national security priorities. The ultimate objective is to identify technologies which are of importance and relevance to India and develop feasible roadmap(s) to indigenize them.

Participation in this initiative is open to Indian citizens and NRIs/ PIOs such as multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional teams, including participants from the research and scientific community in India and from amongst the Indian Diaspora as also Indian Start-ups/ Industry. Each of the strategy reports will be presented to stakeholders in GOI policy making organizations as an input towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Representatives from Ministries, trade bodies and accelerators will be brought together for interaction with the select teams to facilitate operationalisation of suggested roadmaps. NEST Division in MEA, PSA’s Office & SPF would be the synapses for this. This is a participative and inclusive approach to new emerging & strategic technologies in India.
